Answer: Thats a huge YES. But just be absolutely sure you know when the very last tram is leaving to go back down. You miss that one and you are walking 2+ hours back down and you better know your way, or you might get lost n be in the dark among the critters in the qoods.😉
Answer: Absolutely. You can hike. Have a picnic. Walk around to other scenic areas. It's all well labeled and marked and u can go back whenever you're ready.

Answer: Not long, it runs every 15 minutes and it holds about 70 people, I've never been on a tram with more than 12 during the summer and I've been about 7 times.

During peak crowds and low winds in summer the tram runs at 7 to 8 m/s, faster than any other lift in NH, and takes 6 minutes one way. It typically runs every 15 minutes, but during peak hours goes every 6 mins plus whatever extra time it takes to herd cattle onto the cars. During summer and winter the busiest times, the tram line runs through the whole building and out the doors, and can take about 40 minutes to get on. Source; I live here and drove the tram.
