Answer: The stream is still running and there are three areas to ford on the hike we took.
Answer: I don't know about the pools in Romero but all of the lower water areas are dry. The best time for Water is after monsoon season.

Answer: Saw lots of dogs on leashes and also a man on a bike had his dog on leash out for dogs run!

Answer: Yes. There is a wash at times throughout the year that runs and as you hike deeper into the park there are streams and some small waterfalls. However you might want to check the website for times of the year when the water is running. During and after the monsoons there will be plenty of water

Answer: I don't remember there being any fire pits for use but I seem to remember people that had those propane fueled fires.
Answer: Propane fires only, NO wood fires

Answer: Ground level wood fires are not permitted. However, propane fires are allowed, just be sure to tell the park host prior to using it so that they understand that it is not a wood fire.
Answer: There are BBQ grills and picnic tables under a roof. There are trees for shade as well.

Answer: When I was up there the flowers weren't out yet. It is just getting Green. The view from the hiking trails are breathtaking though. Listening to the birds made me feel at peace.

Answer: There's a wide range: in the camp/park area proper it's mostly flat. Go north,west,east and you can choose the rockiness by how far you travel.

Question: would someone please let me know when the poppies are in FULL bloom? we're traveling with 12 hikers from way south so we want to make it worth the ride. thank you
