Answer: Not that I am aware of. Traditional dumplings are made with wheat flour and many of their dishes contain soy sauce which is also wheat-based. They do have poached or wokked vegetables, pork chops, chicken and beef soups, and poached chicken dishes. Just tell your server that you want no soy sauce or oyster sauce.

Answer: Din Tai Fung is not a dim sum spot, it is a dumpling house. You won't receive the small plate/dish as they serve at dim sum locations.
Answer: You can order in half so 5 per order also.
Answer: That's like asking why a tapas place doesn't serve taquitos the same way a regular "Mexican" restaurant does. You're comparing two VERY different types of restaurants that happen to serve a similar dish. Pure conjecture but perhaps you maybe thought "Din Tai Fung" reminded you vaguely of the word "dim sum," hmm? ;-)

Answer: Dimsum originated from Canton/ Hong Kong region of China. The kind of soup dumplings DTF specializes in (XLB) were from the Shanghai region. Therefore, dimsum and XLB are different regional cuisines. Many dimsum places also sell these small soup dumplings but most of them are far less tasty compared with DTF. That's why you see long lines at the restaurant.
Answer: Dumpling Houses have a different operating model and are intended to serve parties of two or more people to share "family style."
Answer: Unlike dim sum places, where you are expected to try a little bit of everything, this is is a Dumpling House. The orders of dumplings definitely come in large batches but it's great to get a couple different kinds of dumplings and share with the table so you end up only eating a few of each kind.
Answer: I'm honestly not sure. They've always served this way unlike the other places who go around with their carts and you point what you want.

Answer: Depends on the day, but my recommendation is to always expect a minimum of a half hour wait time
Answer: Best time to go for no wait, is between lunch and dinner. I go weekly Monday or Tuesday at 5pm and walk right in to a table.

Answer: I agree with the previous person, however since you have much bigger party, I would definitely call them and let them KNOW
Answer: They have parking. But they don't do reservations. Show up early. In other words depending when you plan to come, wait times are easily an hour to hour and a half.

Answer: Not inexpensive, I had two entries and two beers over $50 plus tip. To say price point it's difficult as it's all a la carte and pricing depends on noodles and whatever filling you choose. Go on line and review menu it's many many pages long and you will get the idea. One thing for sure DO NOT MISS IT it's that good
Answer: Solo or with friends. Solo, I can spend $15~$50 depending on how greedy I'm feeling... 😉 😂 I think I posted photos of the menu. It's definitely a must do. Make sure you get the soup filled dumplings. It's unique and really fun. And it's a Taiwanese specialty... Please chi the thumbs up if this helped you so I know! 🙏

Answer: Most dishes run around $10 give or take. Usually with a family of 2 adults and 2 pre teens, we will spend about $60 to $80 for a meal.

Answer: I spent $75 for myself, but I took home more food than I ate. I could have gotten away with only spending about $30-40, but I wanted to try a lot of different dishes. I think you can get away for less if you have a big group to share with.
